hi, bb I´m from (Cadiz, Spain) I´m so worry cos´I have to move to Holland and I need Waves, but my wife is dutch and I really like Holland cos Andalusia is so hot for me and her and I think could be nice change, I gonna move to the north Winsum, Is possible practice BB in big waves, like 5 or 6 meters???? or something like 2m is fine too.

and also I´d like to know if the are locals like in some spot that you can´t do shit cos I feel like the ocean is freedom place. and I allways respect the times.

Bienvenidos en el foro de los bodyboarders Holandeses!

I Don't know any spot nearby Winsum, but i do know that a lot of surfers in Groningen travel to the coast to catch some waves. Mostly to Noord Holland (a carride of ca. 1.5hr.)

The thing you're definitly going to miss out here are big wave spots. We can pick up swells untill +/- 3-4 meters but those days are rare.

Since you are an experienced boarder, it could be interesting for you to sign up for the Dutch Bodyboard Tour, witch is a contest held all year around on different spots along our coast.

It would be nice to have new and experienced blood in our 'cold' waters!

Well sorry to say, but for big waves you are in the wrong country. Max what you will board is like 2 meters, and even those days are rare. Most waves are in the 1 meter range. But they are still lot of fun (shallow and hollow). Buit You do live in a bad place to get to the waves. the closest for you would be the waddeneilanden, which do get the most swell in holland, or if you want to meet other boarders, Petten is a good option, but that still is a drive.

And like Matrawi said, come to the contests, or when there is a nice swell aproacing, most of us will meet up somewhere.

4-3 mm should be sufficient till the end of November if you are OK with cold weather. if you want to surf here during the winter you will need a 5-6 suit, with gloves, socks and a cap
